  4.     I commend your excellent report on the growing use of satellite
  5. TV in the nation's classrooms (VIDEO, May 22). Satellite learning
  6. is becoming the most innovative and cost-effective education
  7. improvement of our time. Even remote and deprived schools, with a
  8. satellite dish outside the door, can receive the best teachers and
  9. courses in the region. Unfortunately, legislation I sponsored in
  10. 1988 to speed the availability of this technology is underfunded
  11. this year, and the Bush Administration has proposed zeroing it out
  12. next year. If America can spend billions for Star Wars, it can
  13. certainly afford a few million for "Star Schools."
